Q: Isn't Topsoil and Fill dirt the same thing?

 

A: NO! Fill dirt contains many organics such as large rocks and tree roots.

This should only be used for filling voids such as old swimming pools or dried lake beds.

The salt content of fill dirt will not allow any vegetation to grow.

Topsoil, on the other hand, is ph balanced, screened and contains a maximum organic content of

13%. Topsoil is ideal for gardens, flower beds or lawns.

 

Q: What is Pea Gravel used for?

 

A: Pea gravel is small rock, usually about the size of a dime or smaller and has many uses.

The most common use is for garden landscaping or walkways. Some have used it for building "French Drains".

 

Q: What's the difference between yellow sand and washed sand?

 

A: Yellow sand is most commonly used for leveling the ground for sidewalks or concrete foundations.

Washed sand is white in color and is ideal for making concrete or brick mortar in home and business construction.
